Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers

Protectapeel Anti-Rust was applied to bare steel components to protect against flash rusting, weathering, weld spatter and scratching during transport, storage, and assembly.

Working alongside BAE Systems, Spraylat also protected finished surfaces during major construction activities, reducing damage and corrosion risk to high-value areas throughout complex, multi-trade operations.

RRS Sir David Attenborough – Polar Research Vessel

Protectapeel was used during the UK manufacture of the RRS Sir David Attenborough to protect critical surfaces throughout construction and fit-out.

Exposed to harsh weather conditions, moisture, salt air, and heavy site activity, the vessel required a temporary protection solution capable of withstanding extreme environments.

Protectapeel formed a durable barrier against corrosion, weld spatter, grinding sparks, abrasion, and contamination, before being cleanly peeled away to reveal pristine finishes.

Protection During Manufacture & Build

During engineering and hot works, Protectapeel protects sensitive finishes from weld spatter, grinding sparks, and airborne contaminants, reducing the risk of permanent surface damage and costly repairs.

During construction, it prevents marking, scuffing, and contamination caused by foot traffic, tools, and materials.

Protection During Refit & Refurbishment

Refit and refurbishment projects place existing finishes under intense pressure. Confined working areas, multiple trades, and extended project timelines significantly increase the risk of surface damage.

Protectapeel provides a reliable, temporary protective solution designed to protect boats and yachts throughout maintenance, refit, and upgrade works.
